What You Can Expect
picture of Wesley Memorial United Methodist ChurchI myself have gained much joy and comfort from your love, my brother, because your kindness has so often refreshed the hearts of God’s people. – Philemon 1:7

When you enter the doors of Wesley Memorial for the first time, you will find that you are in a warm, caring atmosphere; you will be greeted by smiling faces and hands extended in friendship.

Our early Blended Service (8:30 am) is a blend between our Traditional and Contemporary Service.  The music varies from week to week, showcasing our many different choirs ,gifted musicians and many styles of music.

Our Contemporary Service (8:50 am) is a dynamic 45-minute service – contemporary in nature in that it is usually led by our Contemporary Praise Band.  This is an informal service held in our Activity Center Gym, with multi-media presentation that may include slides or short film clips. You will feel comfortable attending in casual clothes.

offering is being lifted up to the Glory of GodOur Traditional Service (11am), a one-hour service is a little more formal and follows a more traditional outline – with organ preludes, the Doxology, Affirmation of Faith, and the Lord’s Prayer. The children are brought up front for a special 5 minute sermon, after which the pre-schoolers leave for “extended session” – a short lesson and activity time. The choir sings anthems and the sermon is given from the pulpit. If you enjoy organ music, you’ll enjoy this service. Most people dress up a little more, but some still wear casual clothes here, too.

As a visitor, you will never be singled out. While there are usually visitor name tags in the pews, it is your choice whether you choose to identify yourself as a visitor. We want to know that you have visited us, so we ask that you sign the form in the pew pocket; but that, too, is not required.

As you enter or leave the Sanctuary through the Gathering Hall, you will notice a table where you can talk with someone about our church and get leaflets and brochures that may answer some of your questions.

We hope that your worship experience at Wesley Memorial is pleasurable and meaningful.
