Welcome to the children’s ministries of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. Our mission here at Wesley is to attempt to lay down a spiritual foundation that, in God’s timing, will lead a child into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. We want each child that crosses our path to experience God’s awesome love through many activities that reach all age levels and ways of learning.

If you’re looking for a warm, safe, and loving environment where your child can get to know God, please join us each Sunday morning for Sunday School from 9:45 - 10:45 in our main educational building. Check out Sunday mornings, and then branch out into our other programs for children.

Calendar of Events

Children’s Sunday is coming, October 11th at both 8:30 & 11:00 worship services. All children’s choirs will be participating and we’d love to have lots of children in our congregation. We also need children to help with parts of our worship, so if interested call Leslie at 791-4092 or email her at ltkey@bellsouth.net.

UPWARD BASKETBALL 2009-2010 LEAGUE has started registrations! We have teams for boys and girls grades K- 6th. Deadline for sign-up is October 16th, but it is on a first come, first-served basis!! Practices begin in December and games begin in January. We also need coaches from Wesley, so if interested call Leslie Key at 791-4092. Upward is a great league that helps children develop basketball skills but most importantly, helps them build good character after the example of Christ. Forms are in the church office, Gathering Hall, and gym area. www.upward.org

On-Going Activities

Children's worship is provided for children, ages 4 yrs. - 2nd grade at each worship service:

8:30 worship - children meet in Room 8 after Children's sermon

8:50 worship - children meet in Room 8 before worship begins

11:00 worship -children meet in hallway after Children's sermon and are taken to our Godly Play room. www.godlyplay.com

Children's sermons that are provided are for all ages of children. Anyone is welcome to participate.

Nursery Care is provided from 8:30-12:30 for ages birth - 3 yrs. old. Baby and Toddler nursery is room 12 and 2 & 3 yr. nursery is room 9.

Sunday Schools are for children age 2 - 5th grade. They meet each Sunday from 9:45 - 10:45am in our educational building. Classes are determined by age and grade. Our curriculums follow the Christian year, as children learn Bible stories and learn about special events in our church life. This time is also used for family events at special times during the year.

Children’s Choirs run from August to April and include children ages 2 years through 5th grade. Choirs meet each Sunday evening from 5:00 - 6:00 pm. NEW!! Cherub Choir 2 & 3 yr olds meet in room 9, Praise Pals (ages 4 - 5) meet in Room 8 and Ultimate Praise (grades 1and 2) meet in the Choir Room along with the Extreme Praise choir (grades 3-5). Children learn through music and song to praise our loving God.

Our leaders seek to create an atmosphere where children can achieve and experience success.
