MULTIMEDIA TRAINING - There will be a one hour training
session this Sunday July 13th from 6:00 - 7:00 pm
in the gym, for those interested in using the new sound and multimedia
equipment. Representatives from all areas of ministry are encouraged to
attend.
GREETERS & USHERS: Please make every effort to attend
the "The Pineapple Connection": Information and ideas relevant to your
volunteer position will help Wesley identify and welcome new visitors to our
Church Family.
“DO NOT NEGLECT TO SHOW HOSPITALITY TO STRANGERS…”
Hebrews 13:2. We are ALL called to be ministers
of welcome. In an effort to help us all more effectively follow this
command in scripture, the Hospitality Committee invites everyone
to attend “The Pineapple Connection: Welcoming Strangers as God’s Invited
Guests”, a free hospitality training workshop which will be held in the
Activity Building Gym on July 27 from 3:00 – 6:00 PM. If you would like to
attend this workshop filled with fun skits, videos, and discussions, please
call the church office (791-4092) to sign up.
CALLING CHURCH LEADERS! We will be having a Sunday night
Bible study entitled "Healthy Congregations: Biblical Reflections for
Church Leaders." The study is designed to help churches discern God's
will as it relates to living fully in The Body of Christ. Those who were
able to attend the Leader's Visioning Retreat in January will remember some
of the topics that will be discussed. The study will meet on
each Sunday night in August from 7:00 -8:00 p.m.
Please call the church office, 791-4092, to sign-up.
BECOME AN AUTHOR! Volunteers needed to each write a
short devotional. Contributions will be compiled and printed into a daily
devotional guide. The guide will be one component of an exciting spiritual
renewal campaign to take place this Fall at Wesley. If interested, contact
Lee Porter at 341-7509 or
mccrill@bellsouth.net for further details.
Due by mid July.
American Red Cross Blood Drive
Monday, August 25th from 1:45PM -6:15PM.
Sign-ups will be in the Gathering Hall 2-3 weeks prior to each
blood drive. You may also call Peggy Ball (791-2328) or email
her at jbpeggyb@yahoo.com
to make an appointment.
HELP FOR LOVED ONES BEHIND BARS If you have a family
member or relative who is incarcerated, we would like to minister to them by
providing them Bibles or devotional materials such as The Upper Room. We
will tailor our response to the needs of each individual. If you have a
family member or relative who would be blessed by suchmaterials, please
contact Bill Adams at the 791-4092 or by e-mail at
bawesley@bellsouth.net
All contacts and information will be kept strictly confidential.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE PRAYER ROOM - If you would be interested in
contributing one worship hour a month for either the 8:45 a.m. service or
the 11:00 a.m. service, please contact Dora Ferger at 791-5166. This
ministry is as meaningful for the person praying as for the person being
prayed for.
OFFICE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! If you have
a couple of hours a week that you could volunteer in the church office, your
help would be greatly appreciated! If you have basic office knowledge and
would like to lend a hand, please call the church office at 791-4092 or
email us at WesleyOffice@bellsouth.net..
VAN MINISTRY TO BRIGHTMORE: Several
members of our church who are residents of Brightmore (on 41st Street), plus
other Methodists who are not members, require transportation to church on
Sunday. For the past five months we have used one of the church vans, with
volunteer drivers, to provide this service. We pick up at 9:20 in order for
them to attend Sunday School, then return them after the 11:00 service. This
is a great ministry, and the residents we serve are very happy with this
service, for without it they might not be able to attend church. Would you
be willing to be a van driver? If so, please call Ed or Carol Jones at
458-0255, and join our happy team of drivers!

Senior Adult News
A word of thanks to our Senior Adults. As you know, Dr. Bill
Parker is now the Director of Adult Ministries. This will place the ministry
to Senior Adults under his direction, and you couldn’t be in better hands! I
just wanted to say “thank you” for the blessing you have been to me as I
ministered to you and with you. We have celebrated worship, heard many
informational speakers, enjoyed fellowship meals together, traveled, served
in missions together and so much more. Thank you for all the good times
we’ve had, and I look forward to seeing the great things you’ll do in the
future. -God bless, Margaret

Limited Parking on Sunday Mornings
You can help
HELP NEEDED - Because of limited parking on Sunday mornings, we need your
help. If you are able to walk the extra distance, we are asking
people who can to park in the back of the lot across Peachtree Street. This will
leave those spaces nearest the church open for those who need them. Thank you
for your cooperation.

80 of the ladies of Wesley Memorial, adorned with their favorite hats,
gathered at Fort Caswell. This third annual event is special to
